This site was created due to the frustration of Cornwall Council seemingly making the public Byway/BOAT/URN data rather difficult to view and access. Consequently in December 2020 an FOI (freedom of information) request was filed and the data is shared on this site.

The Byway data file has been converted from UK Eastings and Northings into latitude and longtitude so it's supported by other navigation and mapping systems. As an example here's a link to it overlayed on Google Maps.

I was provided a separate file with URN data too, however the data fields provided currently make it rather impossible to map out (although you could figure most of it out manually). Consequently I've requested additional data to assist with this process, on the presumption they have some more information available i'll create another Google Maps overlay as well as provide co-ordinate data.
